We are currently seeking a Human Resource Generalist for our Panama City, Florida location. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling all activities of the department, including implementing and coordinating policies and programs, to include recruitment, employee relations, wage and salary administration, new employee orientation, placement, benefits, employee services, and other activities necessary to carry out the company's human resource objectives and programs.

Overview of Position

  • Processes payroll, ensuring compliance with payroll procedures, and addresses questions and issues related to employee pay.

  • Assists with the administration of employee benefits, which may include collecting and submitting employee information and notice of change in status to health, dental, life, disability, and other insurance carriers or insurance brokers.

  • Performs administrative and record-keeping tasks related to staffing changes, which may include layoffs, resignations, terminations, and extended leaves of absence.

  • Prepares, audits, saves, and submits recurring reports to necessary departments timely.

  • Processes, audits, and submits invoices for payment remittance timely.

  • Prepares requisitions for items purchased by the department.

  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.

  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records, and documentation.

  • Maintains employee records, ensuring completion and accuracy of details such as employee contact information, job classification, pay rates, organizational structure, and other key details.

  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.

  • Conducts or assists with record audits and mandatory reports, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, payroll audits, and other compliance reviews.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Required Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field; or equivalent education, training and experience reflective of the skills, abilities, and knowledge contained in this description.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

 

Preferred Education and Work Experience

  • ADP experience or other payroll software certification.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

  • HR Certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR.
