A Port with A Pulse: BPP Port Pulse 2019

For the fifth year, Berg Pipe Panama City has teamed up with our port neighbors for the most successful Heart Walk Event yet.

In partnership with Oceaneering, Linea Peninsular, and the Port of Panama City, Berg raised $2,536 of the $5,471 in donations to the American Heart Association Heart Walk Event.

It’s not just the monetary success that makes this such a great event, but energy and enthusiasm of the partnership between our joint companies’ drive to be the “Port Pulse”.

This year we had an amazing basket raffle among the four companies. With each basket valued at over $1,000, we sold over 440 tickets at Berg Pipe alone.  Our administrative team was out during lunches and shift changes to brag about the baskets and sell all those tickets. It was a group effort and fun interaction with all our team members in the pipe mill and coating mill.

Then it was a fun night of bowling on November 7th with our 2nd Annual Port Bowling Tournament at Rock’it Lanes.  With over 80 total players from the Port Pulse companies it was a blast featuring much laughter and boundless merriment.  Family members and friends were there cheering the bowlers on.   The trophy went home with Oceaneering this year for the best overall score … but Berg is going to get that trophy next year!!!  The raffle basket drawing was also held that night and three Berg employees went home with three of the four baskets – amazing!

The events benefiting the American Heart Association concluded with a Heart Walk, of course!  The Port Pulse walkers made it out to the St. Andrews State Park on a chilly but beautiful Saturday morning on November 9th to make the 3-mile loop around the park.  The AHA hosted this event with music, bagels, and announced that the Port Pulse was #1 in raising funds in the ‘team’ category.  All monies raised goes to research, education, and emergency care of the American Heart Association.  For more information about the cause, visit: www.heart.org.
