A Tasting for Toys | BPP Chili Cook-Off

There is no slowing down after the 2019 Heart Walk!

Mid-November an odd sight was to be seen during shift change when blue antlers started to appear in the HR Hallway.  The oddity was there to promote the first ever chili cook-off at BPP!

With trusty blue clip boards, our Berg Reindeer – Kathleen, Tiffany and Katie – rounded up chefs and participants.  The entry fee to taste and vote was a new, unopened toy (or monetary donation) for Bay County’s Toys for Kids Foundation.  The best chili would win an instant pot and a $50 Amazon.com gift card.

Thirteen crock-pots of chili were submitted on December 5th.

And the serving volunteers were set to deliver tasting samples.

13 little cups of chili add up fast and it was a filling sampling of flavors.

We collect a bushel of toys along with $350+ cash to purchase more toys for Toys for Kids.  Matthew McWhorter won the most votes for his “Mamma’ Chili”.

Congratulations to Matt and thank you to all our chefs, tasters and servers for a fun Thursday event!
