Sherry Knighten

Sherry Knighten is the Director of Human Resources of the Borusan Berg Pipe Group. She has an Associate of Science degree in general education, a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a concentration in management, and a Master of Business Administration degree. She has certifications as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and is a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP). She’s originally from Huntsville, Alabama, but spent several years in South Georgia before moving to Panama City, Florida. She has 20 years of progressive human resources experience. She started her career at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, progressed through various industries such as government consulting, higher and technical education, and banking before finding a home in manufacturing. She has two favorite sayings: “Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail,” by Ralph Waldo Emerson, and “Always evolving.”

Angela Cherry

Angela Cherry is currently HR Manager of Borusan Berg Pipe Panama City.  She received her Associate’s degree from Gulf Coast State College and her Bachelor’s degree from Troy University.  She is currently working towards a Master’s degree from the University of West Florida.  She has also earned her SHRM-CP certification in December 2015.

Originally from Glasgow, Kentucky, Angela has lived in Panama City for the last 24 years.  Her background is in the financial services industry where she spent 12 years in various managerial and project lead roles at Sallie Mae Servicing Corporation.  When the company closed its Panama City location, she transitioned to the banking industry working as a Commercial Loan Administrator for two years before accepting a position at Borusan Berg Pipe as an HR Generalist in 2013.  She was promoted to HR Manager in 2017. 

A favorite quote of Angela’s is from Ralph Waldo Emerson who wrote “The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.”

Amanda Cook

Amanda Cook is a Human Resources Generalist at Borusan Berg Pipe in Panama City. She has a BS in Marketing & Human Resources Management from Oklahoma State University, and is a Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) Certified Professional. She is from Tonkawa, Oklahoma and Perry, Oklahoma. Amanda graduated from Oklahoma State University in May 2014. She worked one year with Luxa Enterprises as Human Resources Payroll Specialist, and is now approaching three years with Berg Pipe Panama City. She is currently a graduate student in the Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM) program at Troy University. A favorite saying of hers is “365 new days, 365 new chances.”

Jim Key

Jim Key is HR Manager at Borusan Berg Pipe Mobile. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Management from University of Alabama, and a Master of Science in Personnel Management from Troy University. He is also a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM Certification Institute. He is from Alabama, and has a career-long background in human resource administration in heavy manufacturing environments. A favorite saying of his is “Roll Tide!”

Michelle Turk

Michelle Turk is an HR Generalist at Borusan Berg Pipe Mobile. She has a BS degree from the University of South Alabama. Michelle is from Mobile, Alabama. She has been with Berg Pipe for 10 years. She worked in the HR and payroll fields for five years in another mill before joining Borusan erg Pipe. Her favorite saying is “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right” by Henry Ford.
