As part of Berg Pipe’s continued focus on Wellness, Berg hosted our first Virtual Hydration Challenge in July and August, 2020. Research suggests that 75% of Americans may suffer from chronic dehydration. Lack of hydration can negatively affect memory, energy levels, and other essential cognitive functions. Our 15-day event focused on all things hydration with a Health Challenge for employees to record their daily intake of water/liquid for a chance to win prizes and earn points toward their Power of Vitality objectives. Vitality is an online service that allows employees to learn about wellness, track their health goals, and earn rewards for working towards health-related accomplishments.

56 Participants attempted to fill a standard Panama City Hydrotested Pipe and was able to reach an impressive 638 Gallons!

A average of 265 Vitality Points were awarded to participants! 14 participants reached the 500-point level! No one left the challenge empty handed. Participating in the challenge entailed logging the daily water intake through an online form. Along with the participant’s daily intake in ounces, they had the opportunity to submit responses to questionnaires describing how they are feeling about the Hydration Challenge. Over the course of the event, 49.5% said ‘Feeling Fine,’ 42% said ‘Feeling Great,’ some said ‘So many bathroom breaks!’ and the two reminaining inputs with the least responses were ‘Need more motivation’ and ‘Who cares, I’m doing it for the points.’
